As Celtic huff and puff to capture all three points and the even more important GIRUY rights over their rivals, a weird thing has happened.
Replays show it was a stonewaller, with the defender’s hand clearly puling the Hoops winger down, even if Sinclair did go down easier than Gary Caldwell’s little girl in the park.
But, just to add to the tinfoil hat sales outside Dens Park on the way out, referee/Brother Bobby Madden waved play on, as is his wont.
In a bizarre turn of events, all three Sky Sports pundits where united in claiming the Hoops’ least-favourite whistler got it wrong.
James McFadden was emphatic is was a pen, while ex-Celt and now professional Negative Nancy Kris Commons agreed, though made a point of suggesting Sinclair still went down easy.
Kris Boyd took some time out from having a hotline to the Ibrox and Celtic Park dressing rooms to admit that, yes indeed it was a penalty.
That Celtic should have received.
Celtic fans are now confused and wondering if it was actually a penalty after all.
Meanwhile, both teams are sticking to their game plan – Dundee are set up to limit the visitors chances and hit on the break, while Celtic’s innovative “lets see if we can win without hitting a single decent free kick or corner” has yet to pay off.
